Lufthansa Cargo AG
Enabling Gobal Business – Insights into the practice of the air freight business and its sustainable implementation
Lufthansa Cargo, as part of the Lufthansa Group, is one of the world’s leading companies in air freight transportation. The company focuses on airport-to-airport services, using a combination of cargo aircraft, cargo capacity on passenger flights, and truck transport. For every shipment, Lufthansa Cargo provides tailored, fast, and efficient logistics solutions across the entire supply chain.
On Supply Chain Day 2025, the company organized five different events aimed primarily at students, apprentices, and professionals, but also at pupils and the general public.
At Frankfurt Airport, for example, participants were offered a Cargo Center Tour and engaged in discussions about what defines the modern and sustainable operation of cargo aircraft, and how Lufthansa Cargo is working towards becoming the world’s most environmentally friendly cargo airline. To gain even deeper practical insights, second-year apprentices in freight forwarding and logistics were able to get hands-on experience themselves: filling out air waybills, learning about export acceptance procedures, and even helping to assemble air-freight pallets – air freight up close.
