Supply Chain Day UE Katowice

On April 15, 2021, for the sixth time, the University of Economics in Katowice joined the Celebration of Supply Chain Day with Amazon, Tisoft and TransEdu companies.

The event was attended by more than 165 people. Among them were students studying in the fields of: Logistics in Business, Logistics, International Economic Relations and Economic Analytics, university employees and high-school students of the High School No. 2 from Żory, the Economic and Service School Complex from Rybnik and the Administrative and Economic and General Education School Complex from Bytom.

Participants had the opportunity to take part in three workshops. The first was related to Amazon's business and the challenges the company faces. After introducing and familiarising themselves with the main elements of the workshop, the participants began to work on a business case on the subject of "Contingency situations management". The work of the three separate teams was presented in detail and discussed by all participants. The workshop was led by Amazon employees: Mrs. Martyna Haładus, Operations Manager, Mr. Paweł Jaroń, Ship Area Manager and Mr. Kacper Wojciechowski, Flow Area Manager from Amazon.

As part of the second workshop, the participants listened to a lecture on relations in modern Logistics. They also took part in a workshop with loading planning software- Goodloading.com. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Lucyna Szierok and Mr. Bogumił Paszkiewicz from TransEdu.

The third workshop was related to the modern management of the production process using the Work Manager ERP system. After the introductory lecture, participants had the opportunity to learn about detailed ways to use Work Manager ERP and Start Shop application. The workshop was led by Ph.D. Krzysztof Grochowski, M.Sc. Wojciech Jędrzejewski and M.Sc. Daniel Zwierzchowski from Tisoft.

We hope that these experiences will motivate the participants of the workshop to acquire and develop their knowledge and skills.
